00:00:00 ►
Greetings from cyberdelic space.
00:00:19 ►
This is Lorenzo and I’m your host here in the Psychedelic Salon.
00:00:23 ►
And I want to begin today by letting you
00:00:26 ►
know that you have most likely heard today’s rap by Terrence McKenna before. Although I’ve
00:00:31 ►
titled today’s podcast McKenna’s Psychedelic Rhapsody, this is actually Terrence McKenna’s
00:00:37 ►
live talk from a rave that was documented in Ken Adams’ brilliant documentary Alien Dreamtime.
00:00:44 ►
Now if you’ve been with me here in the salon for a while,
00:00:46 ►
you’ll remember Ken from his 2012 and 2013 Palenque Norte lectures.
00:00:52 ►
And in his 2013 lecture,
00:00:55 ►
Ken talked about his then-recent documentary titled
00:00:58 ►
Imaginatrix, The Terence McKenna Experience.
00:01:02 ►
And I’ll put a link to it in today’s program notes,
00:01:04 ►
which you can find
00:01:05 ►
at psychedelicsalon.com. And if you haven’t seen that film, well, you really should make a point
00:01:11 ►
of doing so. Not only is it a deep look into the life and times of Terrence McKenna, the film also
00:01:18 ►
presents itself in some really unique ways that I think will inspire young video enthusiasts to
00:01:23 ►
maybe reach for some new heights.
00:01:25 ►
And you should also know that Ken isn’t just another McKenna fan. He was Terrence’s neighbor
00:01:30 ►
for many years and probably knew him as well as anyone outside of his family, so Ken’s insights
00:01:36 ►
are certainly worth paying attention to. Now I come to Alien Dreamtime. As I said, the DVD is
00:01:44 ►
available on Amazon, and I encourage you
00:01:46 ►
to get a copy, because, well, the audio portion alone isn’t even half of the experience.
00:01:51 ►
The graphics are simply awesome. In fact, it is the perfect bedtime video experience,
00:01:56 ►
I think. Along with a little toke, of course. Many of my friends also have copies of this
00:02:03 ►
video and, well, it’s been played at quite a few of our parties.
00:02:06 ►
But, to be honest, I’ve usually been a little ripped when I watched it.
00:02:11 ►
So I got it out the other day, and, well, it was early in the day, and I discovered that I’d been missing one of Terrence’s best performances.
00:02:19 ►
Back in the 90s, Terrence became a big star on the rave scene after a group called The Shaman
00:02:24 ►
had a record titled Boss Drum go double platinum in the UK and the last track on
00:02:30 ►
that album was Re-Evolution. It was over eight minutes long and featured a really
00:02:36 ►
wonderful rap by McKenna and you can listen to it on YouTube and I’ve linked
00:02:41 ►
to it in the program notes if you want to hear it. I know that Terrence preferred doing mushrooms in silent darkness,
00:02:48 ►
but I’ve always taken music along with me,
00:02:50 ►
and almost every time that I did them alone,
00:02:53 ►
after I swallowed them or drunk the tea,
00:02:56 ►
while I was waiting for them to come on,
00:02:58 ►
I’d listen to that track number 10 on Boss Drum.
00:03:02 ►
And it began with Terrence saying,
00:03:04 ►
If the truth can be told so as
00:03:07 ►
to be understood, it will be believed. I still enjoy thinking about that quote. Now after Boss Drum,
00:03:16 ►
much to his own amazement, Terrence McKenna became a feature on the rave circuit, and out here on the
00:03:22 ►
coast and in Hawaii, he frequently performed with
00:03:25 ►
Lost at Last, which in my opinion is one of the greatest high energy bands ever. There, I guess
00:03:31 ►
there must be a few videos of his rave performances with him, but video recording was much more
00:03:36 ►
difficult before the iPhone. However, somehow Ken was able to capture one of Terrence’s most
00:03:42 ►
spectacular rave performances.
00:03:50 ►
Musically, he was backed by Rose X and Stephen Kent and the Space-Time Continuum.
00:03:57 ►
In the DVD, there are two long musical interludes that are accompanied with some wonderful graphics,
00:04:02 ►
but I’ve had to edit them out of this podcast because, well, the music and graphics together are really the way to experience the musical interludes.
00:04:06 ►
However, from an historical perspective, I think that this live performance by Terrence McKenna is not only one of his best,
00:04:13 ►
it’s also, at least in my opinion, relevant to the world that we’re living in today.
00:04:20 ►
And so I want to preserve it here in the salon as well.
00:04:23 ►
At one point in this program, Terrence says that we need a new myth,
00:04:28 ►
and I completely agree.
00:04:30 ►
As you know, things seem to be coming unstuck,
00:04:33 ►
sort of like Yates once said, the center cannot hold.
00:04:37 ►
Now when Terrence gave this talk in early 1993,
00:04:40 ►
it seemed to many of us like the world was on fire.
00:04:43 ►
We were all wondering what was going to
00:04:45 ►
happen at the millennium and then again in 2012. Well, here we are now in 2020. I don’t know about
00:04:53 ►
you, but it seems to me that the old metaphor about the world being on fire is no longer a
00:04:59 ►
metaphor. Terence McKenna was way ahead of his time but maybe his time is now Thank you. Yeah. All right. Tonight, for your edification and amusement,
00:07:14 ►
three raves, two interregnums,
00:07:21 ►
visions by rosettes, Visions by Rosette.
00:07:31 ►
Didgeridoo, Stephen Kent.
00:07:41 ►
And sound by Space Time. time.
00:07:48 ►
Words and Ideas by Terrence McKenna.
00:07:56 ►
Rap One
00:07:58 ►
The Archaic
00:08:00 ►
Revival revival. History is ending because the dominator culture has led the human species into a blind alley. And as the inevitable
00:08:33 ►
chaostrophe approaches, people look for metaphors and answers.
00:08:46 ►
Every time a culture gets into trouble, it casts itself back into the past, looking for
00:08:58 ►
the last sane moment it ever knew. And the last sane moment we ever knew was on the plains of Africa 15,000 years ago.
00:09:28 ►
Rocked in the cradle of the great horned mushroom goddess. Before history.
00:09:31 ►
Before standing armies.
00:09:35 ►
Before slavery and property.
00:09:39 ►
Before warfare and phonetic alphabets and monotheism,
00:09:46 ►
before, before, before.
00:09:50 ►
And this is where the future is taking us
00:09:55 ►
because the secret faith of the 20th century is not modernism.
00:10:06 ►
The secret faith
00:10:07 ►
of the 20th century
00:10:09 ►
is nostalgia
00:10:12 ►
for the archaic,
00:10:15 ►
nostalgia for the paleolithic,
00:10:18 ►
and that gives us
00:10:21 ►
body piercing,
00:10:24 ►
abstract expressionism, surrealism, jazz, rock and roll, and catastrophe theory.
00:10:34 ►
The 20th century mind is nostalgic for the paradise that once existed on the mushroom-dotted plains of Africa,
00:10:49 ►
where the plant-human symbiosis occurred that pulled us out of the animal body
00:11:00 ►
and into the tool-using, culture-making, imagination-exploring creature that we are.
00:11:11 ►
And why does this matter?
00:11:13 ►
It matters because it shows that the way out is back and that the future is a forward escape
00:11:27 ►
into the past
00:11:29 ►
this is what the psychedelic experience
00:11:33 ►
means
00:11:35 ►
it’s a doorway out of history
00:11:40 ►
and into the wiring
00:11:44 ►
under the board in eternity.
00:11:49 ►
And I tell you this because if the community understands what it is that holds it together,
00:11:58 ►
the community will be better able to streamline itself for flight into hyperspace.
00:12:08 ►
Because what we need is a new myth.
00:12:13 ►
What we need is a new true story that tells us where we’re going in the universe.
00:12:23 ►
where we’re going in the universe.
00:12:27 ►
And that true story is that the ego is a product of pathology
00:12:33 ►
and that when psilocybin is regularly part of the human experience,
00:12:41 ►
the ego is suppressed.
00:12:49 ►
human experience. The ego is suppressed and the suppression of the ego means the defeat of the dominators, the materialists, the product peddlers. Psychedelics return, to the importance of the feeling of immediate experience. And nobody
00:13:11 ►
can sell that to you, and nobody can buy it from you. So the dominator culture is not
00:13:19 ►
interested in the felt presence of immediate experience.
00:13:26 ►
But that’s what holds the community together.
00:13:31 ►
And as we break out of the silly myths of science
00:13:36 ►
and the infantile obsessions of the marketplace,
00:13:42 ►
what we discover through the psychedelic experience
00:13:46 ►
is that in the body,
00:13:50 ►
in the body,
00:13:53 ►
there are Niagara’s of beauty,
00:13:57 ►
alien beauty,
00:14:00 ►
alien dimensions
00:14:01 ►
that are part of the self, the richest part of life.
00:14:09 ►
I think of going to the grave without having a psychedelic experience like going to the grave without ever having sex.
00:14:22 ►
It means that you never figured out what it was all about. The mystery is
00:14:33 ►
in the body and the way the body works itself into nature. What the archaic revival means
00:14:46 ►
is shamanism,
00:14:49 ►
ecstasy,
00:14:50 ►
orgiastic sexuality,
00:14:54 ►
and the defeat of the three enemies of the people.
00:14:59 ►
And the three enemies of the people are hegemony, monogamy, and monotony.
00:15:14 ►
And if you get them on the run, you have the dominators sweating, folks.
00:16:05 ►
dominators sweating, folks, because that means that you’re getting it all connected means tapping into the psychedelic experience.
00:16:12 ►
It’s an experience of the living fact of the intellect of the planet. And without that experience, we wander in a desert of bogus ideologies.
00:16:22 ►
bogus ideologies but with
00:16:24 ►
that experience
00:16:26 ►
the
00:16:27 ►
compass of the
00:16:30 ►
self can
00:16:32 ►
be set
00:16:33 ►
and that’s the idea
00:16:36 ►
that we’re figuring out
00:16:38 ►
how to reset
00:16:40 ►
the compass of the self
00:16:42 ►
through community
00:16:44 ►
through ecstatic dance, through psychedelics the compass of the self through community,
00:16:47 ►
through ecstatic dance,
00:16:49 ►
through psychedelics,
00:16:51 ►
sexuality,
00:16:53 ►
intelligence.
00:16:55 ►
Intelligence.
00:16:58 ►
This is what we have to have to make the forward escape
00:17:01 ►
into hyperspace.
00:17:22 ►
Hello? Hello. Hello. So, that was like an introduction.
00:17:35 ►
Now for some preaching to the choir
00:17:40 ►
on the subject of how come it is that the further in you go, the bigger it gets.
00:17:56 ►
I remember the very, very first time I smoked DMT, it was sort of a benchmark, you might say.
00:18:23 ►
who always got there first visited me with this little glass pipe
00:18:29 ►
and this stuff which looked like orange mothballs.
00:18:38 ►
And since I was a graduate of Dr. Hoffman’s,
00:18:44 ►
I figured there were
00:18:45 ►
no surprises
00:18:47 ►
so
00:18:49 ►
the only question I asked
00:18:52 ►
was how long
00:18:53 ►
does it last
00:18:55 ►
and he said
00:18:57 ►
about five minutes
00:19:00 ►
so
00:19:02 ►
I did it
00:19:04 ►
and So I did it.
00:19:22 ►
And there was something like a flower. Like a chrysanthemum in orange and yellow that was sort of spinning, spinning.
00:19:35 ►
And then it was like I was pushed from behind and I fell through the chrysanthemum into another place that didn’t
00:19:52 ►
seem like a state of mind. It seemed like another place. And what was going on in this place, aside from the tastefully softened indirect lighting and the crawling geometric hallucinations along the domed walls, was that there were a lot of beings in there.
00:20:29 ►
A lot of what I call self-transforming machine elves,
00:20:38 ►
sort of like jeweled basketballs,
00:20:42 ►
all dribbling their way toward me.
00:20:47 ►
And if they’d had faces, they’d have been grinning, but they didn’t have faces.
00:20:54 ►
And they assured me that they told me not to be amazed,
00:21:06 ►
not to give way to astonishment.
00:21:13 ►
And so I watched them,
00:21:16 ►
even though I wondered if maybe I hadn’t really done it this time.
00:21:23 ►
hadn’t really done it this time.
00:21:27 ►
And what they were doing was they were making objects
00:21:32 ►
come into existence
00:21:34 ►
by singing them into existence.
00:21:41 ►
Objects which looked like
00:21:44 ►
Fabergé eggs from Mars morphing themselves with Mandaean alphabetical structures. linguistic intentionality put through a kind of hyper-dimensional
00:22:06 ►
transform
00:22:07 ►
into three-dimensional
00:22:10 ►
space
00:22:11 ►
and these little machines
00:22:14 ►
offered themselves
00:22:16 ►
to me
00:22:17 ►
and I realized
00:22:20 ►
when I looked at
00:22:22 ►
them that
00:22:24 ►
if I could bring
00:22:26 ►
just one of these little trinkets back,
00:22:33 ►
nothing would ever be quite the same again.
00:22:38 ►
And I wondered,
00:22:40 ►
where am I?
00:22:43 ►
And what is going on?
00:22:47 ►
And it occurred to me
00:22:49 ►
that these must be holographic viral projections
00:22:55 ►
from an autonomous continuum
00:22:59 ►
that was somehow intersecting my own. And then I thought a more elegant explanation would be to take it at face value
00:23:14 ►
and realize that I had broken into an ecology of souls, and that somehow I was getting a peep over the other side.
00:23:35 ►
Somehow I was finding out that thing
00:23:40 ►
that you cheerfully assume you can’t find out.
00:23:47 ►
But it felt like I was finding out.
00:23:51 ►
And it felt…
00:23:55 ►
And then I can’t remember what it felt like
00:23:58 ►
because the little self-transforming types interrupted me
00:24:04 ►
and said, don’t think about it. Don’t think about who we are.
00:24:10 ►
Think about doing what we’re doing. Do it. Do it now. Do it. And what they meant was
00:24:25 ►
use your voice
00:24:27 ►
to make an object.
00:24:30 ►
And as I
00:24:32 ►
understood,
00:24:34 ►
I felt a bubble
00:24:35 ►
kind of grow
00:24:38 ►
inside
00:24:40 ►
of me.
00:24:58 ►
And I watched these little elf tykes jumping in and out of my chest.
00:25:02 ►
They like to do that to reassure you.
00:25:05 ►
And they said, do it.
00:25:07 ►
And I felt language rise up in me
00:25:09 ►
that was unhooked
00:25:12 ►
from English.
00:25:14 ►
And I began
00:25:15 ►
to speak like
00:25:18 ►
this. I don’t know what to say.
00:25:30 ►
I don’t know what to say. I don’t know what to say.
00:25:37 ►
I don’t know what to say. Or words to that effect.
00:26:14 ►
And I wondered then what it all meant and why it felt so good if it didn’t mean anything. And I thought about it a few
00:26:33 ►
years, actually. And I decided, you know, that meaning and language are two different things,
00:26:45 ►
and that what the alien voice in the psychedelic experience wants to reveal
00:26:54 ►
is the syntactical nature of reality,
00:27:11 ►
that the real secret of magic is that the world is made of words,
00:27:18 ►
and that if you know the words that the world is made of,
00:28:08 ►
you can make of it whatever you wish. And one of the things that I learned about DMT was that if you’ve ever had it,
00:28:13 ►
even just once,
00:28:16 ►
then you can have a dream.
00:28:20 ►
And in this dream,
00:28:23 ►
somebody will pull out a little glass pipe.
00:28:29 ►
And then it will happen.
00:28:33 ►
It will happen just like the real thing.
00:28:40 ►
Because there’s a button somewhere inside each and every one of us that gives you a look into the other side.
00:28:52 ►
And that’s the button that resets the compass that tells you where you want to sail.
00:29:09 ►
Good luck. Hello.
00:29:32 ►
All right. there’s this quality to reality
00:29:48 ►
which comes and goes
00:29:51 ►
and kind of ebbs and flows
00:29:56 ►
and nobody ever mentions it
00:30:01 ►
or has a name for it
00:30:03 ►
except some people call it a bad hair day, or some
00:30:08 ►
people say things are really weird recently. And I think we never notice it and we never
00:30:20 ►
talk about it because we’re embedded in a culture that expects us to believe that all times are the same and that your bank account doesn’t fluctuate except according to the vicissitudes of your own existence.
00:30:43 ►
according to the vicissitudes of your own existence.
00:30:51 ►
In other words, every moment is expected to be the same,
00:30:55 ►
and yet this isn’t what we experience.
00:31:03 ►
And so what I noticed was that running through reality is the ebb and flow of novelty.
00:31:08 ►
And some days and some years and some centuries are very novel indeed,
00:31:15 ►
and some ain’t.
00:31:18 ►
And they come and go on all scales differently, interweaving resonantly.
00:31:27 ►
And this is what time seems to be.
00:31:32 ►
And science has overlooked this,
00:31:38 ►
this most salient of facts about nature,
00:32:14 ►
facts about nature, that nature is a novelty-conserving engine, erved because in the very beginning there was only an ocean of energy pouring into the universe. There were no planets, no stars, no molecules, no atoms, no magnetic fields.
00:32:27 ►
There was only an ocean of free electrons.
00:32:33 ►
And then time passed, and the universe cooled,
00:32:40 ►
and novel structures crystallized out of disorder.
00:32:48 ►
First, atoms.
00:32:51 ►
Atoms of hydrogen and helium aggregating into stars.
00:33:01 ►
And at the center of those stars,
00:33:04 ►
the temperature and the pressure created something which had never been seen before, which was fusion.
00:33:14 ►
And fusion cooking in the hearts of stars brought forth more novelty, heavy elements, iron, carbon,
00:33:26 ►
four-valent carbon.
00:33:29 ►
And as time passed,
00:33:35 ►
there were not only then elemental systems,
00:33:39 ►
but because of the presence of carbon and the lower temperatures in the universe,
00:33:42 ►
molecular structures.
00:33:43 ►
And out of molecules come simple subsets of
00:33:52 ►
organisms, the genetic machinery for transcripting information, aggregating into membranes, always binding novelty, always condensing time, always building and conserving
00:34:14 ►
upon complexity, and always faster and faster and faster, and faster. And then we come to ourselves.
00:34:30 ►
And where do we fit into all of this?
00:34:35 ►
Five million years ago,
00:34:37 ►
we were an animal of some sort.
00:34:41 ►
Where will we be five million years from tonight? What we represent is not a sideshow
00:34:53 ►
or an epiphenomenon or an ancillary something or other on the edge of nowhere, what we represent
00:35:05 ►
is the nexus of concrescent novelty
00:35:11 ►
that has been moving itself together,
00:35:16 ►
complexifying itself,
00:35:18 ►
folding itself in upon itself
00:35:21 ►
for billions and billions of years.
00:35:25 ►
There is, so far as we know,
00:35:28 ►
nothing more advanced than what is sitting behind your eyes.
00:35:33 ►
The human neocortex is the most densely ramified
00:35:38 ►
and complexified structure in the known universe.
00:35:43 ►
We are the cutting edge of organismic transformation of matter
00:35:49 ►
in this cosmos. And this has been going on for a while since the discovery of fire,
00:36:14 ►
of fire since the discovery of language. But now, and by now, I mean for the last 10,000 years, we’ve been into something new. Not genetic information, not genetic mutation, not natural selection, but epigenetic activity,
00:36:31 ►
writing, theater, poetry, dance, art, tattooing, body piercing, and philosophy.
00:36:38 ►
And these things have accelerated the ingression into novelty so that we have become an idea excreting force in nature that builds temples, builds cities, builds machines, social engines, plans, and spreads over the earth into space, into the micro-physical domain, into the macro-physical
00:37:09 ►
domain. We, who five million years ago were animals, can kindle in our deserts, and if
00:37:19 ►
necessary upon the cities of our enemies, the very energy which lights the stars at night.
00:37:28 ►
Now, something peculiar is going on here.
00:37:33 ►
Something is calling us out of nature and sculpting us in its own image.
00:37:44 ►
and sculpting us in its own image. And the confrontation with this something is now not so far away.
00:37:53 ►
This is what the impending apparent end of everything actually means.
00:38:00 ►
It means that the denouement of human history is about to occur and is about to be revealed as a universal process of compressing and expressing novelty that is now going to become so intensified that it is going to flow over into another dimension.
00:38:37 ►
You can feel it in your own dreams.
00:38:48 ►
You can feel it in your own trips.
00:38:57 ►
You can feel that we’re approaching the cusp of a catastrophe. And that beyond that cusp, we are unrecognizable to ourselves.
00:39:06 ►
The wave of novelty that has rolled unbroken
00:39:11 ►
since the birth of the universe
00:39:13 ►
has now focused and coalesced itself in our species.
00:39:21 ►
And if it seems unlikely to you
00:39:24 ►
that the world is about to transform itself, then
00:39:30 ►
think of it this way.
00:39:32 ►
Think of a pond, and think of how if the surface of the pond begins to boil, That’s the signal that some enormous protean form is about to break the surface of
00:39:49 ►
the pond and reveal itself. Human history is the boiling of the pond surface of ordinary biology.
00:40:09 ►
biology. We are flesh which has been caught in the grip of some kind of an attractor that lies ahead of us in time and that is sculpting us to its ends, speaking to us through psychedelics,
00:40:20 ►
through visions, through culture and technology, consciousness,
00:40:27 ►
the language-forming capacity in our species is propelling itself forward
00:40:33 ►
as though it were going to shed the monkey body
00:40:38 ►
and leap into some extra surreal space that surrounds us
00:40:44 ►
but that we cannot currently see. Even the people
00:40:49 ►
who run the planet, the World Bank, the IMF, you name it, they know that the history is ending.
00:40:58 ►
They know by the reports which cross their desks that what the disappearance of the ozone hole, the toxification
00:41:07 ►
of the ocean, the clearing of the rainforest, what this means is that the womb of the planet
00:41:15 ►
has reached its finite limits and that the human species has now, without choice, begun
00:41:31 ►
She has now, without choice, begun the descent down the birth canal of collective transformation toward something right around the corner and nearly completely unimaginable.
00:41:43 ►
And this is where the psychedelic
00:41:45 ►
shaman comes in
00:41:46 ►
because I believe
00:41:48 ►
that what we really contact
00:41:50 ►
through psychedelics
00:41:53 ►
is a kind of
00:41:54 ►
hyperspace
00:41:56 ►
and from that hyperspace
00:41:58 ►
we look down
00:42:00 ►
on
00:42:01 ►
we look down on both the past and the future, and we anticipate the end.
00:42:12 ►
And a shaman is someone who has seen the end, and therefore is a trickster,
00:42:19 ►
because you don’t worry if you’ve seen the end.
00:42:23 ►
If you know how it comes out,
00:42:25 ►
you go back and you take your place in the play,
00:42:29 ►
and you let it all roll on without anxiety.
00:42:33 ►
This is what boundary dissolution means.
00:42:36 ►
It means nothing less than the anticipation
00:42:39 ►
of the end state of human history,
00:42:42 ►
a return to the archaic mode,
00:42:46 ►
a rediscovery of the orgiastic freedom
00:42:50 ►
of the African grasslands of 20,000 years ago,
00:42:54 ►
a techno-escape forward into a future
00:42:58 ►
that looks more like the past than the future
00:43:01 ►
because materialism, consumerism, product fetishism,
00:43:08 ►
all of these things will be eliminated and technology will become nanotechnology
00:43:14 ►
and disappear from our physical presence.
00:43:18 ►
If we have the dream, if we allow the wave of novelty to propel us toward the creativity that is inimical to the human condition,
00:43:31 ►
this is what we’re talking about here.
00:43:34 ►
Psychedelics as a catalyst to the human imagination.
00:43:39 ►
Psychedelics as a catalyst for language, because what cannot be said cannot be created by the
00:43:50 ►
community. So what we need then is the forced evolution of language. And the way to do that
00:43:58 ►
is to go back to the agents that created language in the very first place.
00:44:05 ►
And that means the psychedelic plants, the Gaian Logos,
00:44:11 ►
and the mysterious beckoning extraterrestrial minds beyond,
00:44:16 ►
hooking ourselves back up into the chakras of the hierarchy of nature,
00:44:23 ►
turning ourselves over to the mind of the total other
00:44:27 ►
that created us and brought us forth out of animal organization. We are somehow part of
00:44:37 ►
the planetary destiny. How well we do determines how well the experiment of life on earth does
00:44:45 ►
because we have become the cutting edge of that experiment.
00:44:50 ►
We define it and we hold in our hands the power to make or to break it. This is not a dress rehearsal for the apocalypse.
00:45:15 ►
This is not a pseudo-millennium.
00:45:18 ►
This is the real thing, folks.
00:45:21 ►
This is not a test.
00:45:31 ►
thing, folks. This is not a test. This is the last chance before things become so dissipated that there is no chance for cohesiveness. We can use the calendar as a club. We can
00:45:38 ►
make the millennium an occasion for establishing an authentic human civilization,
00:45:48 ►
overcoming the dominator paradigm,
00:45:52 ►
dissolving boundaries through psychedelics,
00:45:58 ►
recreating a sexuality not based on monotheism, monogamy, and monotony. We…
00:46:00 ►
All these things are possible if we can understand the overarching metaphor which holds it all
00:46:14 ►
together which is the celebration of mind as play the celebration of love as a genuine social value in the community.
00:46:28 ►
This is what they have suppressed so long.
00:46:32 ►
This is why they are so afraid of the psychedelics,
00:46:38 ►
because they understand that once you touch the inner core of your own and someone else’s being, you can’t be led into thing fetishism and consumerism.
00:46:45 ►
The message of psychedelics is that culture can be re-engineered
00:46:50 ►
as a set of emotional values rather than products.
00:46:55 ►
This is terrifying news.
00:46:58 ►
And if we are able to make this point, then we can pull back.
00:47:04 ►
We can pull back and we can transcend. Nine times in the
00:47:10 ►
last million years, the ice has ground south from the poles, pushing human populations ahead of it.
00:47:20 ►
And those people didn’t fuck up. Why should we then? We are all survivors.
00:47:27 ►
We are the inheritors of a million years
00:47:30 ►
of striving for the unspeakable.
00:47:33 ►
And now, with the engines of technology in our hands,
00:47:38 ►
we ought to be able to reach out
00:47:40 ►
and actually exteriorize the human soul
00:47:44 ►
at the end of time.
00:47:46 ►
Invoke it into
00:47:47 ►
existence like a UFO
00:47:49 ►
and open the
00:47:51 ►
violet doorway into
00:47:53 ►
hyperspace and walk
00:47:55 ►
through it, out of
00:47:57 ►
profane history and
00:47:59 ►
into the world beyond
00:48:01 ►
the grave, beyond shamanism,
00:48:04 ►
beyond the end of history, into the galactic
00:48:07 ►
millennium that has beckoned to us for millions of years across space and time. This is the moment
00:48:16 ►
a planet brings forth an opportunity like this only once in its lifetime and we are ready and we are poised
00:48:26 ►
and as a community
00:48:27 ►
we are ready to move into it
00:48:30 ►
to claim it
00:48:31 ►
to make it our own
00:48:33 ►
it’s there
00:48:35 ►
go for it
00:48:36 ►
and thank you Thank you. And for now, this is Lorenzo signing off from cyberdelic space.
00:49:41 ►
Namaste, my friends.
