MATEO: “Here’s the thing about divine creativity, and that really pegs it because creation is divine, and we are creators. And when we tap into that cosmic oneness and unity, spirit comes through, and we give ourselves up to spirit and allow spirit to move us instead of trying to move spirit.”

MATEO: “So, when you tap into divinity the ego basically disappears, and you’re in the sweet spot, you’re in the zone, and then you’re listening to yourself, and you’re blowing yourself away with what’s coming through, because it’s beyond you. It’s beyond us. It’s spirit talking.”

MATEO: “Time is just a thing that the mind does to try to make sense out of reality.”

MISSY: “I know it’s heart, for me it’s heart, whatever that is. And because the heart’s in the body, if I get in my body I can feel my heart. And I let my heart move my body so that’s my way of finding, or taping into that creative divine, or that spark.”

ANDRE: “You get to that point where the ego can just rest because you know your body has it, you know your being can take care of the physicality, the mechanics of whatever you’re doing, and then, once I think you can rest in yourself, in that place, then there’s space for that divine to come through.”

ANDRE: “This pocket we’re talking about, this divine spark, it’s not something you can hold onto. The tendency when you fall in love is you want to hold onto that beloved, to grasp and try to posses. And in a sense, what you do is you kill that spark. Especially when you’re doing something delicate and creative, you have to be really in the moment, because the moment you try to hold onto it, it’s gone.”

00:00:00

Greetings from cyberdelic space.

00:00:19

This is Lorenzo, and I’m your host here in the psychedelic salon.

00:00:24

And I’ve got something a little different for you today, but first I want to let you know that at the end of this podcast, I’ll give more details,

00:00:32

but the Oracle Gathering has now been rescheduled for July 31st and August 1st and 2nd.

00:00:39

And it’s going to be held in a different but truly spectacular place.

00:00:44

And I’ll give you all of the details in just a bit.

00:00:47

But first, I would like to thank some of our wonderful fellow salonners who sent in donations this past week

00:00:53

that I’ll be using to help pay some of the expenses associated with producing these podcasts.

00:00:59

And those two people are Karen A. and Marie B.

00:01:03

And if I’m not mistaken, this is the first time in almost four years of podcasting from the salon

00:01:08

that all of the week’s donations have come from women.

00:01:12

As has been discussed here on several occasions,

00:01:15

while there are as many women who are involved in the psychedelic community as are men,

00:01:20

we don’t often get to hear from them.

00:01:22

Mainly, I think, because us men are such loudmouths.

00:01:26

So it’s very comforting to know that you ladies are out there doing what you have been doing since

00:01:31

we first began walking upright, and that is taking care of us grown-up boys. So thank you ever so

00:01:38

much, Karen and Marie, and that goes for all of our women salonners who join us every week.

00:01:43

And that goes for all of our women salonners who join us every week.

00:01:47

Your presence here in the salon is very important.

00:01:51

And even though us guys may not always behave very well,

00:01:56

we certainly do appreciate the civilizing influence that you bring to our lives.

00:02:02

And by happy coincidence, we will also have a young woman joining us for today’s talk,

00:02:05

which, as I mentioned, is something a little different from my normal programs. A few weeks ago, Matteo Palamari, who you know from several

00:02:12

previous podcasts, and I spent some time camping out in the mountains with a small group of close

00:02:17

friends, two of whom are Missy and Andre Nobles, who you will hear from in a few minutes.

00:02:23

are Missy and Andre Nobles, who you will hear from in a few minutes.

00:02:29

As you will hear, Missy is a dancer and Andre is a musician.

00:02:30

A minstrel, actually.

00:02:34

And I mean that in the truest sense of the word.

00:02:37

But rather than say any more right now,

00:02:40

I’ll just let them tell you their stories themselves.

00:02:45

Of course, you Mateo fans already know that he’ll be adding his two cents as well,

00:02:49

and that’s a good thing, even though I tease him about it from time to time.

00:02:56

So here is how this recording came about. The four of us had been hanging around for several days,

00:03:03

talking, hiking, and playing music, when Mateo suggested that we turn on a recorder and capture a little of what had evolved into a long conversation over several days.

00:03:07

What I’m going to play for you now is a part of the recording we made that day.

00:03:12

So let’s get comfortable and we’ll join Missy, Andre, Mateo and me as we try to figure out the meaning of life or something like that.

00:03:21

or something like that.

00:03:30

Welcome, my brothers and sisters.

00:03:34

It’s Mateo here on the Psychedelic Salon with Lorenzo.

00:03:39

And I am deeply honored to give you a treat today,

00:03:41

whatever day you’re listening.

00:03:47

I’m really happy to introduce my friend,

00:03:48

my spirit brother,

00:03:51

Andre Nobels.

00:03:54

And I need to tell you a few things about Andre before I launch him on you.

00:03:58

Also, really quickly,

00:03:59

I do want to say big love to everybody out there.

00:04:03

Thank you all for listening.

00:04:05

Especially brother KMO and Cody and Sancho.

00:04:09

We love you guys.

00:04:10

You guys are all making it happen.

00:04:12

And everybody else out there, thank you.

00:04:15

We love you.

00:04:16

And we’re going to prove it.

00:04:19

Here’s the thing.

00:04:21

I met Andre a while back in some shamanic work.

00:04:26

And as soon as he opened his mouth,

00:04:29

I was like, ro-ro-roarage,

00:04:31

because he hit me right in the heart.

00:04:33

And I listened to him play and sing,

00:04:36

and it really got my attention.

00:04:39

Now, Cody and Sancho, I know a lot of you guys probably know,

00:04:42

I’m a musician myself, I’ve played and sang all my life.

00:04:46

But when Andre began to sing and play, I was really overwhelmed.

00:04:51

So then, being a homie, I bought his music.

00:04:55

And I went home and I was listening and I was enjoying the music.

00:04:59

And I was listening to the music and the sound of the music and what he was doing.

00:05:04

And I was loving it.

00:05:06

And then I was so caught up in that,

00:05:09

I took a couple of listenings

00:05:09

and suddenly his lyrics started to hit me.

00:05:13

And they blew me away.

00:05:15

And so I kept listening and listening

00:05:16

and soon enough I was obsessed.

00:05:20

And it brought grief to my domestic situation

00:05:23

because I got in an argument with my wife

00:05:25

over who’s his biggest fan.

00:05:28

And so his music’s been following me

00:05:30

and I’ve been dazed, amazed, and half-crazed for days

00:05:33

and seriously delirious listening

00:05:35

because I go to bed at night, it’s in my head,

00:05:38

it’s playing all the time.

00:05:40

So I had the pleasure of spending some extended time with him.

00:05:44

We got to play in a jam and spending some extended time with him we got to play

00:05:45

in a jam

00:05:47

and I got to sing with him

00:05:49

and his beautiful wife Missy

00:05:50

did some great percussion work

00:05:53

we was jamming man

00:05:55

and it was really something

00:05:57

so

00:05:58

I looked him up

00:06:01

on MySpace

00:06:03

and I sent him a message,

00:06:05

and the header was, I have a real problem with your music.

00:06:11

And then when he opened it up, it said, I can’t stop listening to it.

00:06:14

And he appreciated that.

00:06:17

So we spent some time in nature,

00:06:20

really connecting and realizing how we are all one, one spirit. And we had

00:06:31

some wonderful, wonderful discussions about creativity. And one of the things we talked

00:06:37

about extensively is genius. Now I need to share some things about genius,

00:06:45

whether you know it or not.

00:06:47

And they did a survey of geniuses all over the world,

00:06:53

every genius they could find, more or less, at the time,

00:06:55

some years back.

00:06:57

And every one of them, to the man or the woman,

00:07:01

every one of them said,

00:07:02

it ain’t me.

00:07:09

It’s not me. It’s beyond me. It just comes through me. And I had a moment in the jungle a couple of years ago where I decided to do

00:07:17

a drum solo and I decided to play my body, which I had never done. One of the great things

00:07:24

about being a drummer is it doesn’t matter where you are, you always

00:07:27

got your instrument with you.

00:07:29

And as some of you know who’ve read my work and stuff, I grew up poor, and my dad was

00:07:33

a big band jazz drummer, so wherever I am, I can play, which is a wonderful thing.

00:07:38

So I got inspired to do this drum solo with my body and working with the plants in nature.

00:07:45

And I got this thought and I said,

00:07:47

I’m going to really totally put my ego aside.

00:07:50

Just shut up and go away and let it rip.

00:07:55

And some truly amazing things came out

00:07:56

and blew everybody away,

00:07:58

but I think I blew myself away more

00:07:59

because there was no ego.

00:08:02

It was just coming through me.

00:08:04

And this is what happens when Brother Andre plays.

00:08:07

So when you listen to what he sings and has to say,

00:08:12

when your heart is open,

00:08:14

you’re going to feel his heart,

00:08:15

and you’re going to feel what comes through it,

00:08:17

which is really a beautiful thing.

00:08:20

So I think at this point, without further ado,

00:08:22

I’d like to introduce proudly and honorably my friend and my brother, Andre Nobels.

00:08:29

Thank you, Mattel. It’s a pleasure to be here.

00:08:33

Let me, this is Lorenzo, I just want to also welcome you and Missy to the salon.

00:08:38

You’ve been in our hearts for a long time now, and it’s great to have you physically here in the salon too. You’re welcome. It’s nice to connect with this family.

00:08:46

I feel a big coming home

00:08:48

meeting you guys

00:08:50

and now meeting you, the audience,

00:08:53

and connecting.

00:08:54

I think the music has a life of its own

00:08:58

and it will land where it needs to land

00:09:01

in the hearts of those who need to hear it.

00:09:03

It’s my goal is to definitely get out of the way

00:09:08

so that the genius of the divine can go to work

00:09:11

because my little brain can’t figure it out, that’s for sure.

00:09:16

And you hear the humility in there because there ain’t no ego here.

00:09:22

Yeah, and that doesn’t come lightly either that’s uh that’s a a big commitment and a

00:09:28

journey that we all need to take in life in order to uh discover who we are which is uh ultimately

00:09:36

nothing uh and everything and that takes a lot of courage and commitment seeking trying uh doing all the things that make us human

00:09:47

you know all the good the bad the ugly the pretty embracing it all i think that word acceptance pops

00:09:55

in a lot these days and i think that’s a mantra for our times acceptance and look look beneath

00:10:03

the surface it may look like shit on the surface but

00:10:05

underneath

00:10:06

it all plays out

00:10:09

and there’s something cosmic going on

00:10:11

and I think tapping into that is the real

00:10:13

key to

00:10:14

definitely joy, happiness

00:10:17

tranquility, creativity

00:10:19

connection

00:10:21

and ultimately just that

00:10:23

pure love that we all want to share with each other.

00:10:26

That’s what we’re here to do.

00:10:28

And gratitude.

00:10:29

Gratitude. Thank you. Thank you.

00:10:31

I got gratitude for the music and where it takes me.

00:10:37

I have a hard time.

00:10:39

I’m going to have to restrain myself when he plays

00:10:40

because I’m going to want to play and sing

00:10:41

and I’ve got to shut up because I don’t want to mess with the perfection.

00:10:47

Yeah, it’s been a real treat, me and Matteo.

00:10:49

He’s a good mirror for me.

00:10:52

Before meeting him and some of the other family

00:10:57

that I’ve been coming into contact with lately,

00:10:59

by that I mean spirit family,

00:11:01

I wasn’t sure, I guess, where the music was supposed to land.

00:11:08

And that was part of my journey in discovering it for myself.

00:11:12

So it seemed like as that lined up within myself, then people started popping up that would mirror that.

00:11:20

And right now it’s about doing the external.

00:11:26

As for me, the last 10 years for both Missy and I,

00:11:28

it’s been a big internal journey,

00:11:31

a lot of growth, a lot of trial and error,

00:11:35

a lot of challenging experiences,

00:11:39

and a lot of depth and beauty.

00:11:41

And then when you come through that fire,

00:11:43

there’s something really really rich and

00:11:47

beautiful that you find on the other side and it’s really this oneness this connection the

00:11:54

synchronicity this depth this beauty this gratitude this loving and it’s my pleasure to be here today and just spreading the gospel vibe of love.

00:12:10

Amen, brother.

00:12:11

Hallelujah.

00:12:13

Yeah.

00:12:14

I’d like to mention one thing really quick.

00:12:17

Lorenzo and I have been with this part of the tribe.

00:12:20

We’re celebrating basically our 10th year anniversary.

00:12:26

So I’ve been doing this work and I’ve gone down in the jungle now for 9 or 10 years and done lots of work. And

00:12:32

Lorenzo has also. That’s how we connected. So I think it kind of has a cosmic significance

00:12:37

that at this point in our path, because we’ve both grown immensely from the work, that Andre

00:12:42

showed up at the right time because there are no accidents.

00:12:43

from the work that Andre showed up at the right time because there are no accidents.

00:12:45

Yeah, the timing was, you know, kick-ass.

00:12:49

I couldn’t have imagined it being more perfect.

00:12:53

And I think, you know, when you’re dreaming about your possible futures

00:12:56

and thinking about how that might come into play,

00:13:00

and you have little threads of the feelings of what you might want to experience,

00:13:04

but at least my experience has been when i actually get to those moments and have the realization

00:13:10

like oh this is what i was dreaming it’s exponentially bigger and more expansive than

00:13:17

i could have held because my perception at the time when i first had the dream had no realization of what that future potential was or or is and so

00:13:28

you got to take it step by step and i always felt like that spirit family was out there for me and

00:13:37

it’s been a gentle uncovering and to really find these guys and and see the work that they’re doing in the world is

00:13:45

has been beautiful and then to add what i have to to that is uh you know it’s it’s a gift beyond

00:13:52

words for sure it’s a gift and what we’ve discovered is that we’re all we are gifts for

00:13:59

each other such mirrors yes yeah yes and every every utterance is a blessing

00:14:06

and tell you what

00:14:08

brothers and sisters

00:14:09

it don’t get no better than that

00:14:11

this is what there is

00:14:14

and all there is

00:14:15

that’s right

00:14:15

let’s explore that idea of that divine spark

00:14:19

a little bit deeper

00:14:20

I know Mateo and I had a conversation of it

00:14:23

the other day and this

00:14:27

whole inspiration uh sort of this pocket of of creative perfection and genius is within all of

00:14:35

us and just from our own experience and in our own professions and and all the things that we do

00:14:41

uh maybe we could each of us could touch on that a little bit for you guys

00:14:45

and know, you know, just give a bit of context,

00:14:51

a bit of something you could draw from into your own lives

00:14:54

that you can take to whatever you do,

00:14:57

whatever your practice is,

00:14:58

whatever your heart is called to do,

00:15:00

so you can find that pocket where you are right there and yet sort of the observer and the

00:15:08

the action i guess at the same time so i don’t know who wants to start but let’s go

00:15:14

oh okay we like to talk yeah i like to talk i talk more shit than a two thousand dollar parrot

00:15:20

well here’s the thing about divine creativity.

00:15:27

And that really pegs it because creation is divine.

00:15:30

And we are creators.

00:15:32

And when we

00:15:33

tap into that cosmic

00:15:35

oneness and unity,

00:15:38

spirit comes through

00:15:39

and we give ourselves up to spirit.

00:15:42

And allow spirit to move us

00:15:44

instead of trying to move spirit.

00:15:47

I may have mentioned this in other podcasts,

00:15:50

but you get on this path for a while

00:15:52

and you keep knocking on the door

00:15:55

and you keep knocking on the door.

00:15:58

And guess what?

00:15:59

One day it knocks back

00:16:01

and it scares the shit out of you.

00:16:03

But there’s also a tremendous amount of joy with it

00:16:06

because you’ve been answered.

00:16:09

So when you tap into divinity,

00:16:12

the ego basically disappears.

00:16:17

Then you’re in the sweet spot.

00:16:19

You’re in the zone.

00:16:21

And then you’re listening to yourself

00:16:22

and you’re blowing yourself away with what’s coming through

00:16:25

because it’s beyond you

00:16:28

it’s beyond us

00:16:29

it’s spirit talking

00:16:30

and when you’re in that

00:16:35

spiritual energetic

00:16:37

then anybody who’s been on the path

00:16:41

and anybody who’s been opening up their heart

00:16:43

becomes resonant with that

00:16:44

and resonance is a key word who’s been on the path and anybody who’s been opening up their heart becomes resonant with that.

00:16:46

And resonance,

00:16:47

a key word.

00:16:49

And, you know,

00:16:50

humor me here,

00:16:51

but the whole concept of resonance,

00:16:52

in essence,

00:16:53

what resonance is

00:16:54

is vibrating

00:16:54

at the same frequency.

00:16:56

When you go through

00:16:57

on a radio dial,

00:17:00

you tune an oscillator

00:17:02

to a frequency.

00:17:03

You sound like Terrence McKenna.

00:17:05

You tune an oscillator. I frequency. I sound like Terence McKenna. You tune an oscillator.

00:17:08

I’ll never be Terence.

00:17:10

But you tune the oscillator to the frequency,

00:17:14

which is a carrier wave.

00:17:16

And when you tune to that frequency,

00:17:18

you’re on the same frequency

00:17:19

that the radio station is transmitting on,

00:17:22

and you are in resonance.

00:17:24

And resonance is harmony.

00:17:26

And you’re in the same place.

00:17:29

I think in one of my wild time travel theories,

00:17:31

I think you really are in the same place.

00:17:33

I think that when you hear Andre playing this forever,

00:17:36

all over the internet,

00:17:38

it’s always going to be right here, right now.

00:17:40

That will be then,

00:17:41

because time is just a thing that the mind does

00:17:44

to try to make sense out of reality. So the resonant frequency of divinity is where it’s at, and

00:17:51

as you work on this path, you raise your frequency, because this is where the planet’s heading,

00:17:56

is to a higher vibration. Because we’ve been wallowing in the shit long enough, it’s time

00:18:01

to grow up. Of course, the flowers got to grow up out of the shit anyway, right?

00:18:04

Yeah, there’s no place for that, for sure.

00:18:06

That’s right.

00:18:07

But my point is, you’re in the same place,

00:18:09

so when the music really hits you in the heart,

00:18:11

and that’s the funny thing that Andre’s been saying

00:18:13

to me over and over again,

00:18:14

you get my music, bro.

00:18:16

You get it.

00:18:17

I’m like, damn straight, Billy Bubba.

00:18:20

So it’s the divine spark of creativity.

00:18:23

We are all one.

00:18:23

When Andre sings and plays, it’s all of us. It’s all of you. And that’s the divine spark of creativity we are all one when Andre sings and plays

00:18:25

it’s all of us, it’s all of you

00:18:26

and that’s the beauty of it

00:18:29

want to kick in there Lozo?

00:18:30

yeah, just a short little thing

00:18:33

thought I had about the divine spark of creativity

00:18:36

is for a large portion of my life

00:18:39

when I thought of creativity

00:18:40

I thought, well I’m creating a work of art

00:18:43

or creating a website or a software

00:18:46

program. But once I really got in touch with the divine within, I realized that those are just

00:18:52

bits and pieces, because what the divine within really is creating is your current life and

00:19:01

beyond and in the past. And so when we talk about divine creativity,

00:19:07

your life is the work of art that you’re creating.

00:19:10

At least that’s my perspective now.

00:19:13

Wow, that’s really profound. Thank you for that.

00:19:17

Yeah, and did you want to go next?

00:19:22

Well, I mean, part of this,

00:19:27

part of you guys talking about your 10-year anniversary and your ability to hear and resonate with Andre and his music,

00:19:33

for me, a lot of this circle and coming home has been feeling like an initiation

00:19:39

and also an inspiration, because it feels like when someone has found their creative dharma,

00:19:47

their spark, and they know what it is,

00:19:50

and they’re living it, and their life is their art,

00:19:53

they resonate with that, and then they can reflect it

00:19:56

and just share this gratitude and this appreciation.

00:20:00

And for me, it’s been coming in waves.

00:20:02

And at first it was like, can’t be me, it can’t be me, it can’t be me

00:20:06

and then it’s like

00:20:08

well actually yeah it’s not me

00:20:09

and when I say it’s not me all of a sudden it comes in

00:20:12

all of a sudden I can receive

00:20:14

and let that flow through me

00:20:16

and for me it’s movement, for me it’s dance

00:20:18

and

00:20:19

it’s been such a gift to sit in circles

00:20:22

with all of you

00:20:23

and to be inspired by what you’re doing

00:20:27

and for you to recognize where that comes from

00:20:33

and then use your words.

00:20:34

For me, all your stories are medicine for me.

00:20:37

It’s living medicine for me.

00:20:40

Each of you have different gifts,

00:20:42

but all of you here have the gift of words, absolutely,

00:20:44

Each of you have different gifts, but all of you here have the gift of words, absolutely,

00:20:50

to tell the story of where it comes from, how it feels.

00:20:57

And it really helps for me to bring it into context, I guess,

00:21:01

what it is I’m feeling and doing, and I really appreciate that.

00:21:06

I know it’s heart. For me, I know it’s heart, whatever that is. And because the heart’s in the body, if I get in my body, I can feel my heart and then let

00:21:12

the heart move my body. So that’s my way of finding or tapping into that creative divine

00:21:19

or that spark. It’s physical and simple, but the same thing, I think,

00:21:25

because I hear you when you describe it.

00:21:28

I feel it.

00:21:31

Yeah, I got something there.

00:21:32

The simplicity idea really hits a chord with me,

00:21:37

and I think we each tend to think through society,

00:21:43

through our training, that complex is better, more knowledge is better,

00:21:48

and piling on top and piling on top.

00:21:50

And at first that is the way, I think, to get there.

00:21:53

You’ve got to do the work, you’ve got to practice,

00:21:57

you’ve got to discover what you’re capable of and what your edges are.

00:22:01

And then you kind of get to this point of throwing it all away you know like the the real

00:22:06

masters in say classical music or or any art form they get to a point where it’s it goes beyond the

00:22:15

mind and you sort of uh through whatever your path through is you get to that point where the ego can just rest because you know your body

00:22:26

has it you know your being can can take care of the physicality the the the mechanics of whatever

00:22:33

you’re doing and then uh once i think you can rest in yourself in that place then there’s space for

00:22:40

that divine to come through and for me my primary mode is my voice and to uh basically i

00:22:48

like to just make a foundation with guitar or uh another instrument but uh usually guitar and then

00:22:56

what i’m doing with my voice is like a constant letting go and that process has been always

00:23:03

getting out of the way and finding whatever little

00:23:05

pockets of resistance i have and i feel them very physically and they’re like these little

00:23:09

energetic gateways which over the years you know at first felt impassable like a great wall of

00:23:18

china you know and then like you can just barely get the sound out and then over the years that resonation sort of breaks down those

00:23:26

little pockets those barriers until it’s getting purer and purer and purer and you push the envelope

00:23:33

and then all of a sudden you’re not even singing anymore something is coming right through

00:23:38

because it’s recognized that you’re ready for that responsibility you’re ready for that responsibility. You’re ready for that voice.

00:23:50

You’re ready for that energy that can’t be held by the ego because it’s too confined.

00:23:53

It’s like taking the divine and trying to stuff it in a small box.

00:23:58

That’s what we’ve done here in these bodies.

00:24:00

And so it’s about looking for that way to allow that to come through the body and then

00:24:07

i think that’s when you feel so much alive and it’s there’s that gift again when you feel it

00:24:13

and you see another feel it and you start lighting up like candles because you get to share it with

00:24:18

each other and have so much gratitude for this yes you know we’re starting to get it and a friend of mine said this morning

00:24:26

that we made it and for me that sums it up right now and i think we all have to

00:24:33

be very thankful that this time is rolling we’re doing the work we’ve made it

00:24:40

and this energy of positivity and hope i think has reached a certain critical mass that

00:24:49

it would take a lot to turn it back and i don’t really think that it’s going to happen it’s

00:24:55

gaining so much momentum and you right now are doing your part by tuning in by resonating

00:25:01

by being there being here right now you’re here right now in this moment by resonating, by being there, being here right now. You’re here right now in this moment,

00:25:07

connecting, resonating, and lighting up from the inside out. And once that happens, boom.

00:25:14

Yeah. I’m sorry, but these guys provoked me. It’s really Missy’s fault, but Andre’s too.

00:25:19

I’ve got to add a couple of things here. I’ll go backwards.

00:25:23

It’s your turn.

00:25:24

Thank you.

00:25:26

For indulging me.

00:25:29

One of my life’s

00:25:30

mottos that I’ve come to

00:25:31

is that simplicity

00:25:32

is the essence of genius

00:25:34

and there is a real

00:25:35

elegance to that.

00:25:38

I think Einstein

00:25:39

was quoted somewhat on that.

00:25:41

I may be ripping him off

00:25:42

but don’t tell anybody.

00:25:44

The other thing that struck me

00:25:46

what Missy was saying

00:25:46

is about the heart.

00:25:50

And what I learned in shamanism

00:25:51

about the heart is that

00:25:53

the heart is the sun

00:25:55

of your personal universe, solar system.

00:25:59

And your heart

00:26:00

is connected to the heart

00:26:02

of the sun

00:26:03

that gives us unconditional love

00:26:05

which we would not exist without.

00:26:08

And that heart goes back to the

00:26:10

bigger one, to the bigger one, to the bigger one

00:26:12

back to the source.

00:26:14

There’s a beautiful Hafez poem, which I’ve got to say it.

00:26:18

Even after all this

00:26:20

time, the sun

00:26:22

never once says to the earth

00:26:24

you owe me. Look what happens with a love

00:26:29

like that. It lights up the whole sky. Last but not least.

00:26:37

Thank you for that, bro.

00:26:39

I love it. That’s my wife Patty’s favorite. She got me going on it. Thank you.

00:26:43

It was the time for it.

00:26:45

It was hot as it was to me.

00:26:46

I’m not that good.

00:26:50

Well, you brought tears to my eyes, so it was pretty damn good.

00:26:52

Thank you, brother.

00:26:55

Last thing I want to mention, probably not the last thing, but this little sound bite,

00:27:01

is I learned in the jungle, in my ayahuasca visions,

00:27:07

I’ve had a number of animals come to me.

00:27:10

And in essence, we’ve become in resonance.

00:27:14

And as I understand it now,

00:27:16

the animal can see through my eyes,

00:27:19

and I can see through its.

00:27:21

And I’ve gone through bugs and snakes and insects,

00:27:24

and I spent a lot of time with the condor.

00:27:27

And Brother Andre has major ego mojo,

00:27:30

and we’ve been dancing together and flying in the sky together.

00:27:34

And the hummingbird comes to me,

00:27:37

and anybody knows everything in my life is picoflor.

00:27:40

It’s Spanish and Peruvian.

00:27:42

Picoflor means picar is to bite, and flor is flower, so it’s bite flower.

00:27:46

But it’s hummingbird.

00:27:48

So when the hummingbird came to me in a visionary state, my body started going a mile a minute.

00:27:57

I mean, it scared me at first, but I was just like, hold on, Luke, you’ll make it.

00:28:03

And then Scotty chimed in, She can’t take any more, Captain.

00:28:06

But I hung on to my body.

00:28:07

My legs started flapping a mile a minute.

00:28:09

And I was going forward.

00:28:10

And we all knew what was going on at the time.

00:28:13

It was revealed to us.

00:28:15

So when I would be in the jungle in visionary states,

00:28:19

and the hummingbird would come to me,

00:28:20

and it’s so sweet.

00:28:21

And she takes me to really high-frequency, beautiful visions.

00:28:26

And as soon as I start to think and rationalize so sweet and she takes me to really high frequency beautiful visions. And as soon as I start

00:28:27

to think and rationalize

00:28:28

about it,

00:28:28

she’s gone.

00:28:30

And if I shut up

00:28:31

the monkey mind,

00:28:33

she comes back.

00:28:34

So it’s really a state

00:28:36

of not thinking,

00:28:37

which is the place

00:28:37

you go to when you play.

00:28:40

So I wanted to share

00:28:41

my personal experience

00:28:42

with that because

00:28:42

it’s kind of how I learned.

00:28:45

Pico Foie really taught me that.

00:28:49

And then the last little piece here,

00:28:51

it’s sort of off on a sidetrack a little bit, but not really,

00:28:54

but somebody told me a while back

00:28:56

that hummingbirds were the nerve endings of God.

00:29:01

I just think that’s phenomenal.

00:29:03

Yeah, that’s a nice thought.

00:29:05

Yeah.

00:29:06

Beautiful thing.

00:29:08

Mm-hmm.

00:29:10

Should I play?

00:29:11

Damn, hell, what are you waiting for?

00:29:13

All right.

00:29:14

You’re in for a treat.

00:29:14

Ha, ha, ha, ha. Thank you. What I said Without love in my heart

00:30:05

I’d be better off dead

00:30:07

So I put myself

00:30:12

On the fire and laughed

00:30:14

Nearer fire was to be

00:30:18

Now is the time

00:30:20

And it took more courage

00:30:24

Than I could bear

00:30:27

So I opened up to God’s way

00:30:33

And it shone so bright it broke me down

00:30:40

Down in the nothing except His Son

00:30:45

It humbled me

00:30:52

I thought I had the answers to what I see

00:31:01

It shattered me I see Shattered Me Into

00:31:08

The

00:31:09

One true

00:31:10

Piece of me

00:31:12

Well I’m moving on but I’m not the same

00:31:27

I’m done with the lies of playing those games

00:31:34

And I can’t explain what I cannot speak

00:31:40

But my vision’s clear and my heart’s not weak

00:31:45

And I ask you to see just what I do

00:31:51

Oh, don’t dissuade me from what we say to you

00:31:58

And I love you deep inside

00:32:02

Can I fail you?

00:32:06

And your heart can hurt

00:32:08

But it cannot break

00:32:09

And I am true

00:32:16

True to the love I have for you

00:32:25

And I see

00:32:28

That I’m only

00:32:33

Just one Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, Looking for you, that’s what I said Without love in my heart I’d be better off dead

00:33:09

So I put myself on the fire and lied

00:33:16

And if I was to be, now is the time

00:33:20

It took more courage than I could bear

00:33:26

So open up to God’s glare

00:33:33

And His song so bright it broke me down

00:33:39

Down into nothing except His sight Oh, down into nothing except His sight

00:33:50

Down into nothing except His sight Thank you. I don’t know about you homies and homies,

00:34:34

but I had me a magic goosebump attack.

00:34:36

Thank you.

00:34:39

That’s great. Thank you, brother.

00:34:40

Thank you so much.

00:34:42

Perfect song, I think, though.

00:34:43

So that’s a song called Into Nothing,

00:34:45

which is, in a way,

00:34:48

a real sum-up of my shamanic experience.

00:34:55

And it’s a gift.

00:34:57

It’s a gift.

00:34:58

And it is my title track of my second album,

00:35:02

entitled Into Nothing.

00:35:03

And I really hope you guys uh enjoy

00:35:07

that and it’s for your hearts and i’m sure lorenzo will let you know where you could find that music

00:35:13

so much for sure and i probably this is a good point to add that uh before uh two more months

00:35:22

are out the uh you’re going to be exposed to about 15 or 20 hours

00:35:25

of me talking and it’s going to be my audio book

00:35:28

and the close of that long talk

00:35:33

is going to be some music by Andre

00:35:35

so I’m very honored to be able to

00:35:38

use some of his music

00:35:40

thank you

00:35:41

resonance

00:35:43

yeah thank you reciprocal honor my friend resonance resonance there it is

00:35:45

yeah

00:35:46

yeah

00:35:47

so

00:35:49

where do we go

00:35:51

from here

00:35:52

what’s the next step

00:35:55

Andre’s been

00:35:55

on a road tour

00:35:57

actually I should

00:35:57

take that back

00:35:58

their dog Roxy

00:35:59

is on a road tour

00:36:00

she’s taking us

00:36:03

along for a ride

00:36:03

for the drivers

00:36:04

she came to visit so she let Andre and Missy come along

00:36:07

which was enjoyable

00:36:08

and it’s been

00:36:11

a real joy

00:36:12

sharing time and space

00:36:14

when they left

00:36:17

and my wife went to work that Monday morning

00:36:19

I was freaking lost

00:36:20

I was like what am I going to do now

00:36:21

I didn’t know what to do

00:36:23

but we got to

00:36:26

reconnect and spend some more sacred time together and there’ll be more of that yeah that’s a cool

00:36:31

brings up a cool point that i’d like to share you know this this pocket that we’re talking about

00:36:36

this divine spark it’s not something you can hold on to and the tendency when you fall in love is to want to hold on to that beloved, to grasp and try to possess.

00:36:48

In a sense, what you do is you kill that spark.

00:36:54

Especially when you’re doing something delicate and creative,

00:36:57

you have to be really in the moment

00:36:58

because the moment you try to hang on to it, it’s gone.

00:37:04

That’s the training. That’s what we’re here to learn to do is to it it’s gone and uh that’s the training you know that’s that’s what we’re here

00:37:07

to learn to do is to be present every moment because each one is unique and brilliant and it’s

00:37:13

like little petals of a flower you know one at a time you’re you’re discovering them and

00:37:20

as much as we love mateo, we’re feeling it too.

00:37:25

We left, but you’ve got to move.

00:37:30

You’ve got to change.

00:37:30

There’s no holding on to it.

00:37:32

And we’ve learned to not say goodbye

00:37:35

because it’s really next time we’ll see you or see you soon

00:37:40

because there really is no goodbye.

00:37:43

And all those experiences we have they’re

00:37:45

deep seated in our heart and that resonance is always accessible you know it’s like recording

00:37:51

a piece of music it’s there and you can’t take it away it’s like that resonance is in the universe

00:37:56

now you know it’s like putting a word down on paper it’s like recording this podcast there it

00:38:02

is and that’s the beauty i I think, of the technology today,

00:38:07

all of this stuff coming together,

00:38:08

this connective field.

00:38:11

We get to choose what we put in that field.

00:38:15

It’s about time we, as the people, as the lovers,

00:38:20

put the energy that we want to see and feel in our lives out there

00:38:24

and not just be fed someone else’s story

00:38:29

because pretty much it never fits.

00:38:33

It can be informative.

00:38:35

Right.

00:38:35

But it’s not your story.

00:38:37

No, we each have our story to create.

00:38:39

And so please do.

00:38:40

You owe it to everyone.

00:38:44

I had someone you were speaking about

00:38:46

not holding on to that

00:38:47

I got an image of

00:38:49

trying to hold on to smoke

00:38:51

and it made me realize

00:38:54

I knew it anyway but it just came to the surface

00:38:56

in shamanic work

00:38:58

in the jungle you do a lot of work with tobacco

00:39:00

and you don’t inhale it

00:39:02

because it’s such a powerful ally

00:39:03

but when you say prayers

00:39:07

to spirit and to the universe, you send out a puff of tobacco smoke. And because the tobacco

00:39:15

smoke goes out and basically dissipates into the ethers, that’s your way of contacting

00:39:21

spirit. It’s putting energy behind your prayers. So in that ethereal moment

00:39:26

of spirit

00:39:26

with the music

00:39:27

and the playing

00:39:28

and the sound,

00:39:29

it’s really the same essence.

00:39:31

It’s that.

00:39:32

Going out to spirit.

00:39:34

Making spirit manifest.

00:39:36

Yeah.

00:39:36

But it’s like fleeting too.

00:39:38

It’s like a brief window

00:39:39

where you get to touch it.

00:39:41

That’s right.

00:39:42

I shouldn’t say this.

00:39:43

I’m misbehaving here.

00:39:44

But that’s why spirit matters.

00:39:48

A shameless plug.

00:39:51

I blacked out.

00:39:52

I hope it’s shameless.

00:39:54

It should be.

00:39:56

Oh, man.

00:39:57

I got all the shame out of it.

00:39:58

There’s probably only one person who’s more shameless about me than me, and that’s Lorenzo.

00:40:04

Amen. Amen.

00:40:05

Yeah.

00:40:08

I don’t know if you want to

00:40:10

go into this or not,

00:40:11

and if not, we cut it out,

00:40:14

but, you know,

00:40:16

a lot of

00:40:16

the people that are listening right now, our fellow

00:40:19

salonners,

00:40:21

a good many of them are musicians,

00:40:24

artists in various forms, and almost everybody

00:40:28

I know that’s a musician or artist somehow has to have the day job and gets stuck in

00:40:34

the system. And you too have foregone what I would consider a comfortable life. To be

00:40:42

a traveling minstrel, you’ve had to make some serious decisions

00:40:47

about your life.

00:40:49

And would you care to share

00:40:51

how you came about doing that?

00:40:52

Because I think it could help

00:40:53

maybe some of our other fellow salonners

00:40:56

to figure out what they want to do.

00:40:58

I’d be honored to.

00:40:59

I’ll start,

00:41:00

and I’m sure Missy will have some things to add.

00:41:03

This is not a decision that came lightly

00:41:05

or was made you know uh because i was hating what i was doing or whatever i mean i’ve i’ve been there

00:41:13

and i’ve worked lots of jobs and and walked in both worlds and had that uh had that experience

00:41:20

and always always always have in my heart known that music is where i wanted to be

00:41:27

putting all my energy and it was an evolution of coming to terms with where i was at in that

00:41:35

resonating field where i was ready to embrace myself and it was about embracing this divinity

00:41:40

and the more i’m able to embrace it the more i’m able to let go of those other things

00:41:46

of say needing a regular job or other belief systems that that have kept me safe in my

00:41:54

survival consciousness and as i transcend that survival mode consciousness i realize

00:42:00

that within the oneness if i’m being in integrity with myself if i’m being in pure alignment with

00:42:08

who and what i am then i’m perfectly taken care of in every moment just as the flowers and the

00:42:14

trees and the animals and everything else is in perfect harmony and so it’s been our goal to tune

00:42:22

into that and we each have our unique path in this life.

00:42:27

But I think when you come into alignment with that,

00:42:29

you have what you need in every moment.

00:42:32

And I mean, sometimes all I got is 20 bucks in my pocket.

00:42:35

And I have the thought like,

00:42:37

holy shit, I got to make some money.

00:42:39

This is really scary.

00:42:39

And then I’m like, wait a minute,

00:42:41

that’s an old belief system.

00:42:42

And is that the energy I want to create?

00:42:45

Or do I want to focus on the fact that I’m abundant right now

00:42:48

and I have everything I need in this moment?

00:42:51

I’ve eaten, I’ve got a place to sleep,

00:42:53

I’ve got beautiful friends and relationships

00:42:55

and this expanding universe to express myself in

00:42:59

and be heard and received and gifted.

00:43:01

And stepping into that flow at first,

00:43:06

it’s like this huge leap, this huge dive.

00:43:10

And it’s really scary.

00:43:12

And it’s a learning.

00:43:14

It’s a gentle learning.

00:43:15

And we’re still learning.

00:43:16

There’s no question.

00:43:18

And it’s each moment those fears come up for you.

00:43:21

But it’s about accepting those fears and being,

00:43:23

okay, this is how I feel right now.

00:43:25

What’s that about?

00:43:26

And how can I work within the context of who I am

00:43:30

and what I know and what’s around me

00:43:34

in terms of bringing that into a perspective

00:43:36

that fits where I want to go?

00:43:39

And that’s kind of the essence of it.

00:43:46

Missy, I’m sure you’ve got something to say about that too.

00:43:48

I keep seeing flowers.

00:43:51

We’ve all talked about this flowering or this idea of a flower.

00:43:58

I’ve been working with this flowering of my own too.

00:44:02

Flowers for me are that,

00:44:04

all they do is radiate presence they’re

00:44:07

just beauty and present right there for you in the moment but to be a flower is the ultimate

00:44:13

vulnerable state they are so vulnerable in every moment they’re so delicate so that that balance

00:44:21

of being present and radiating presence,

00:44:29

it seems to me that that comes with being vulnerable.

00:44:32

So for us on this journey,

00:44:38

stepping into this vulnerability has also allowed me to flower and allowed me to start to smell that essence,

00:44:42

to start to taste it, to start to be it and

00:44:45

see it in other people. Like I was saying earlier, it’s that coming into resonance.

00:44:51

You kind of shake your way around it and then all of a sudden the beauty is everywhere.

00:44:58

Okay. I can go somewhere with that too.

00:45:00

That’s good, yeah.

00:45:02

I’ll get something to add to it.

00:45:03

Okay. Missy touched on this idea of vulnerability

00:45:06

and I think it’s a real key one and it’s delicate and it’s something that I’ve learned many a lesson

00:45:15

around and I tend to throw my heart open in situations and be uh maybe overly trusting uh and now i feel i’ve i’ve learned the

00:45:28

lessons i needed to in terms of uh discovering what those edges are and uh i think you learn

00:45:35

by being hurt you learn by uh going over that edge and you understand okay being vulnerable is a gift but you need to honor yourself first and that’s a process of

00:45:49

discovering you know what you really need and tuning in to your your deepest uh you know divine

00:45:58

essence and need in a moment in the moment and that only comes with this real delicate presence

00:46:02

that you only get by slowing down i’ve

00:46:07

got this line in one of my songs you know don’t be fast when you’re asleep and it’s for me that

00:46:13

that sums up it’s like often we’re rushing through life and you know you can’t uh you can’t uh tap

00:46:21

into that by moving too quickly.

00:46:29

But there can be speed and precision in that openness once you get a hold of it.

00:46:34

Another friend told me years ago, it was actually a little farmer. I was working for him and I was trying to do something really quickly and impress him.

00:46:39

He was like, no, stop.

00:46:41

First you get good, then you get fast.

00:46:40

No, stop.

00:46:44

First you get good, then you get fast.

00:46:51

I need to chime in here because this vulnerability thing and the flowering is very cosmic.

00:46:56

It’s been probably my major life struggle

00:46:59

because anybody who knows me knows I’m the original fucking hard ass.

00:47:02

You know?

00:47:02

who knows me knows I’m the original fucking hard ass.

00:47:04

You know?

00:47:05

And

00:47:05

getting back to the concept of simplicity

00:47:10

and genius and whatever,

00:47:12

cosmically speaking,

00:47:14

it could sound a simple thing.

00:47:17

Fear

00:47:18

is contraction

00:47:19

and love is expansion.

00:47:22

Beautiful.

00:47:23

That is the essence. As Frank Zappa would say, that’s the crux of the biscuit. The. That is the essence.

00:47:26

As Frank Zappa would say,

00:47:27

that’s the crux of the biscuit.

00:47:29

The crux of the biscuit.

00:47:29

You know.

00:47:31

But I had so much armor,

00:47:34

I’ve worked so hard to shed.

00:47:37

And it still comes out every once in a while.

00:47:38

Sometimes I’m kidding around,

00:47:39

sometimes I’m not.

00:47:40

You know, if your subconscious is kicking in.

00:47:44

But it’s really that simple and that basic.

00:47:45

Would you say it’s worth it?

00:47:47

Oh, absolutely.

00:47:49

But you see, here’s the thing.

00:47:52

We had this long discussion about power versus force.

00:47:56

When you force, everything always has to come into balance, you see.

00:47:58

That’s why the world’s so whacked out right now,

00:47:59

because it’s all out of balance. Because when you push with force,

00:48:02

the pendulum has to swing back.

00:48:04

Always. So when you learn with force, the pendulum has to swing back. Always.

00:48:06

So when you learn the lesson,

00:48:08

truly the lesson of power,

00:48:10

when you begin to master power,

00:48:13

it becomes effortless.

00:48:14

There’s the expression,

00:48:15

effortless mastery.

00:48:16

And things start to come to you

00:48:18

because you don’t have to put out the effort.

00:48:22

It will come to you.

00:48:24

So, yes. So in my times of learning vulnerability,

00:48:28

I had to take some hard shots physically and mentally and emotionally. And I realized,

00:48:36

damn, when did I create that shit and throw that out? It took a long time to come back

00:48:39

around and whack me upside the head, but it did, literally. I won’t get into the gory details.

00:48:47

But in essence, I had to just be vulnerable and suffer

00:48:51

on multiple levels.

00:48:54

That doesn’t mean you need to hang on to the suffering by any means.

00:48:57

Oh, no, that’s the energy coming home.

00:49:01

Yeah, yeah.

00:49:02

It’s the reflection coming back.

00:49:04

Definitely.

00:49:04

You see?

00:49:06

And then when you say,

00:49:07

oh, okay,

00:49:08

then you’re not going to be inclined

00:49:10

to rock the boat anymore.

00:49:12

Then you’re really going to discover

00:49:13

the quiet,

00:49:16

solid

00:49:16

essence

00:49:18

of power.

00:49:21

Huh?

00:49:22

Yeah.

00:49:24

Yeah, that’s true power.

00:49:25

Yeah.

00:49:26

And it’s not

00:49:27

it’s not

00:49:28

easily won.

00:49:30

And

00:49:31

funny thing about power

00:49:32

when you

00:49:33

go on a bid for power

00:49:34

so to speak

00:49:35

the more you

00:49:37

go on the path

00:49:39

the more you come to know

00:49:40

the more you come to learn

00:49:42

the greater the responsibility

00:49:44

and the greater the consequences

00:49:46

if you are not in integrity and you are not in truth. You will fall. And the more you

00:49:53

understand and cultivate power, the greater the consequences when you screw up. I mean,

00:49:59

I’m repeating myself because it’s very important. So as you go on the power path, you realize the

00:50:08

importance of integrity and purity. That’s where it’s at.

00:50:13

Hmm.

00:50:14

So.

00:50:15

I have to agree with that.

00:50:18

Yeah, totally.

00:50:19

But it’s easier said than done sometimes.

00:50:22

Oh man.

00:50:23

Yeah, here we are.

00:50:24

Oh man. Yeah, here we are.

00:50:26

Amen.

00:50:27

You know, the funny thing is we are the worst with ourselves.

00:50:31

We’re our own worst enemy, always.

00:50:34

But if you also realize that we’re all mirrors,

00:50:37

which reflections are you cultivating?

00:50:40

Another way of saying it is which energies are you drawing to yourself?

00:50:43

Yeah.

00:50:44

And where are the leaks? I think the other side of that coin, too, another way of saying it is which energies are you drawing to yourself yeah you know and where

00:50:45

are the leaks i think the other side of that coin too it’s like uh just as much as you’re kind of

00:50:51

digging in those depths and feeling all that stuff it’s about uh in my perception it’s about

00:50:57

loving all that it’s about integrating you know there’s it’s about feeling all those dark pockets

00:51:03

and the reason they’re dark they’re calling’re calling to have light shed on them.

00:51:09

You know, that’s the job of this shamanic path.

00:51:12

It’s the essence, so to speak, of awakening.

00:51:19

When you see that dark pocket of yourself, our tendency is to turn away.

00:51:24

You know, turn away from the fear.

00:51:26

But you can train yourself to go towards the fear.

00:51:31

To move into it.

00:51:32

And for me, the shamanic path, it’s the path through, not around.

00:51:37

And as long as you go around,

00:51:39

eventually you just come back up against it some other time, some other way.

00:51:43

And it might look different, but it’s probably going to be the same lesson.

00:51:47

And look at it how you want,

00:51:49

but there’s only one way, really,

00:51:52

and that’s to face it.

00:51:54

I’d like to share a short story.

00:51:56

Please.

00:51:57

That our mentor told us, which I just love.

00:51:59

I’ve heard it a couple of times now.

00:52:01

It’s about Africa,

00:52:03

and it’s about how lions hunt. And what happens is the older

00:52:10

lions who have no teeth, they get on one side of a herd that they’re stalking like the gazelles.

00:52:19

And all the young lions, the hunters, the strong ones go on the other side. And what

00:52:24

happens is the older lions start to roar. They’ve, go on the other side. And what happens is the older

00:52:25

lions start to roar. They’ve got no teeth,

00:52:27

but they roar. And all the gazelles

00:52:30

and everything take off running,

00:52:31

and they run right into all the young hunting lions

00:52:34

waiting for them.

00:52:36

So the moral of the story

00:52:38

is,

00:52:39

in times of fear,

00:52:42

always run toward the roar.

00:52:46

Yeah. times of fear always run toward the roar. Yeah, that’s an old toothless line. I really love that.

00:52:54

I can’t show it for you yet.

00:52:56

You’re going to end up with the meat, baby.

00:52:58

Oh, yeah, that’s right. Better believe it.

00:53:06

so you think you want to do another song

00:53:08

or you guys want to talk some more

00:53:10

yeah

00:53:11

I don’t have much time with that

00:53:14

we’ve got as much time as you want

00:53:15

I’ll go on forever

00:53:16

no go for it

00:53:19

alright well I’ve got another song here

00:53:25

off my most recent album and it’s it’s a love song and i’d like you to think of it as

00:53:33

a song to the divine and i really consider playing a spiritual practice and writing, tapping into that, and that ultimate beloved energy, a

00:53:49

lot like Rumi and Hafez poems. And so this is called Circles are like dreams

00:54:15

Revolving in my heart

00:54:18

And I see you spinning there

00:54:22

When we are apart

00:54:25

There’s something much deeper

00:54:28

And the soul cries out

00:54:32

Open up your love

00:54:36

For me to see you come

00:54:39

Ooh

00:54:41

Ooh I can only stand to think when I’m thinking of you

00:54:52

Ooh, I can only really feel when I’m feeling you

00:55:08

And in the middle of it all

00:55:16

I begin to fall

00:55:19

And I land in your arms

00:55:23

That’s what I need, that’s all

00:55:27

Just love me like you never left

00:55:30

Yourself a love before

00:55:33

Cause now that I’ve tasted you

00:55:37

All I want is more Ooh, I can only stand to think

00:55:50

When I’m thinking of you

00:55:53

Ooh, I can only really feel it

00:56:05

Feel it

00:56:09

And the heart cries out

00:56:18

Been waiting all my life

00:56:23

To know what this is about.

00:56:27

And I’ve grown a heart of cries.

00:56:32

I was losing hope, but now I have no doubt.

00:56:38

And I can only stand to think

00:56:49

When I’m thinking of you

00:56:51

I can only really feel

00:57:02

When I feel in you

00:57:06

Did you just snort?

00:58:14

I’m sorry.

00:58:16

Yeah, without a razor blade and a straw. How do you like that?

00:58:24

Transcendence. I snorted. I’m sorry. No, I’m not. transcendence

00:58:25

I snorted

00:58:35

yeah

00:58:35

this was brilliant

00:58:36

this was so beautiful

00:58:38

and

00:58:38

I just want to express

00:58:40

gratitude to

00:58:41

you

00:58:42

the listener

00:58:43

the divine listener.

00:58:46

May your heart be open and show the light, your true glory.

00:58:52

And we support you in your full beauty.

00:58:57

Thank you so much for being here.

00:58:59

Thank you so much for coming to this earth.

00:59:01

We need you.

00:59:04

Love you.

00:59:05

And as my wife Patty says,

00:59:08

Amen

00:59:09

a women, a kids.

00:59:15

Well, King, this case is closed.

00:59:20

You’re listening to the Psychedelic

00:59:22

Salon, where people are changing

00:59:24

their lives one thought at a time.

00:59:29

I really don’t feel like talking very much after hearing Andre sing.

00:59:34

So I’m going to press on here and make a few announcements, and then I’m going to put on one of his CDs and listen to some more.

00:59:42

It’s too bad this isn’t a video podcast because then I could also

00:59:46

share some of Missy’s dancing with you. Hopefully those of you who are able to make it to the

00:59:51

Oracle Gathering this summer will be able to see one of her performances for yourselves.

00:59:57

I do want to point you to two places on the net though where you can find Andre and Missy. And one is at www.andrenobles.com. And that’s

01:00:08

A-N-D-R-E-N-O-B-E-L-S.com. And the other is on myspace.com slash Andre Nobles Music, all one

01:00:18

word. As I mentioned during our conversation, I’ll be using one of Andre’s tunes from his

01:00:24

recent album as the

01:00:25

closing song for my upcoming audiobook. And if you want to get a preview of that song, it’s

01:00:30

Running From Yourself, which is on his most recent CD titled Into Nothingness. So if you want to help

01:00:38

out a couple of traveling musicians, just surf on over to his website and buy a CD or two. It’ll be good for your soul.

01:00:47

And speaking of things that are good for your soul, you may want to try a dose of Dennis McKenna,

01:00:53

who can be heard in an interview on Paratopia. That’s the Paratopia podcast episode 7, to be

01:01:00

exact. And for what it’s worth, after I listened to the first 15 minutes of it online, I decided

01:01:06

to download it to my MP3 player so I can listen to the full interview. Now, the topic of psychedelics

01:01:13

isn’t the main focus of this podcast. In fact, the two guys who run the program, Jeff and Jerry,

01:01:20

bill themselves as paranormal talk show hosts, and their podcast is largely about the paranormal,

01:01:26

including UFOs and other topics that the corporate-controlled media tend to make fun of.

01:01:31

And while this is a fun podcast to listen to,

01:01:34

they are very serious in what they are all about.

01:01:37

So you may want to check them out at Paratopia,

01:01:40

that’s P-A-R-A-T-O-P-I-A dot podbean, P-O-D-B-E-A-N dot com.

01:01:47

And, by the way, there are also fellow salonners, in case you’re wondering.

01:01:53

Now, for the information about the upcoming Oracle Gathering.

01:01:57

Here is part of what I received from the organizers.

01:02:01

Due to the availability of a far superior place to host our event,

01:02:06

we have decided to relocate and shift the fountain to a later date,

01:02:11

July 31st to August 2nd.

01:02:14

This piece of land is epic and perfect for the last oracle.

01:02:18

Far more accommodating and the weather will be great.

01:02:21

Plus, it’s closer to Seattle, yet the same drive distance from Portland.

01:02:26

You can check out the site at Dragonsphere.com.

01:02:29

That’s D-R-A-G-O-N-S-S-P-H-E-R-E dot com.

01:02:35

And I’ll put a link to that on the notes to this podcast.

01:02:39

They go on and say,

01:02:41

We took a drive out there yesterday.

01:02:44

It’s a beautiful drive for one, especially this time of year, so lush.

01:02:48

The soft, grassy piece of land is in a rich valley,

01:02:52

nestled between two earth fountains, Mount Rainier and Hellens.

01:02:56

Gorgeous, perfect.

01:02:58

There are sweet, magical woodlands all around and wetlands too.

01:03:02

The Cowlitz River runs alongside the property.

01:03:06

We watched a herd of elk jump off into the woods. Please check out the site. It is truly a sweet place to hold the

01:03:11

last oracle. And if you check out the site on Google Earth like I did, I think you’ll see what

01:03:17

they mean. It looks to me like a perfect setting for the weekend. I’ll be there for sure, as will

01:03:24

several of my friends, including

01:03:25

Missy and Andre, who we just heard from in today’s podcast. We were hoping that Mateo would join us

01:03:31

also, but he’ll be off on a different adventure, one that I hope to be able to talk with him about

01:03:37

later this year. For now, all I can say is that not only are they making a movie about this

01:03:43

adventure, but there is also a documentary

01:03:46

being made about the making of the movie. So stay tuned for some tall tales from Mateo later this

01:03:51

year. Well, time for me to get back to work on finishing my audio recording project. And so I’ll

01:03:59

close for now by reminding you that this and all of the podcasts from the Psychedelic Salon are freely available for you to use

01:04:06

in your own audio projects

01:04:08

under the Creative Commons Attribution

01:04:10

Non-Commercial Sharealike 3.0 license.

01:04:13

And if you have any questions about that,

01:04:15

then just click the Creative Commons link

01:04:17

at the bottom of the Psychedelic Salon webpage,

01:04:20

which you can find at psychedelicsalon.org.

01:04:23

And that is also where you’ll find the program notes for these podcasts.

01:04:28

So for now, this is Lorenzo, signing off from cyberdelic space.

01:04:33

Be well, my friends.
